At St. Peter’s we are aware of our inter-connection with one another, and with the community around us. We are in community and being in community is about serving one another. Jesus told His disciples “You know how the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant … just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20.25
Serving others is the way of faith, and it is a way we seek to cultivate and expand here at St. Peter’s. Serving others means taking them where they are and welcoming them. It means putting their needs before our comfort. We serve because Jesus serves us. We are called to do the work our Shepherd gives us.
In our lives of service we rejoice to partner with other Christians, with the larger church, and with people in our community.
We participate in our own congregational Food Pantry, providing commodities and financial support for those in need.
